As the demand for generic Viagra (sildenafil) in the UK increases, so too does the need to buy prescription drugs online. A new poll by theFinancial Timeshas found that men who used the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra in the UK over the past few years have the lowest prices for the drug.
The survey, published in theon Tuesday, found that the average price for a 100-milligram tablet of Viagra in the UK is £17.46. In the same poll, men who used the drug had the lowest prices for a pack of four Viagra pills. The lowest price for one pack of four is only available through pharmacies.
The Viagra online pharmacy market in the UK is valued at £12.2 billion (about £7.8 billion) in 2022, according to data from the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
In the first quarter of 2021, the number of prescriptions for Viagra in the UK increased by 50 per cent. Viagra tablets cost the most to order per prescription.
The increase was particularly strong among men aged 18 to 41, who had prescriptions filled over the past six months. This included men aged over 40 who had taken the drug in the past year or had a prescription for Viagra, or those who had bought it online from a registered online pharmacy.
The data also showed a sudden increase in the price of prescription drugs from men who had used the online medicine.
A BOTHTDAY was held on Thursday after a local pharmacy was found to sell a “Viagra pill” in the Vancouver market.
Pharmacy store Costco was accused of selling the “Viagra pill” in an illegal sale of Viagra tablets from a pharmacy. Pharmacist Andrew Campbell said the store “clearly had a role in the sale of Viagra and the sale of Viagra pills in the Vancouver area.”
The pharmacist told The Courier that they were in the market for an erectile dysfunction medication called Cialis and that they would sell for between $500 and $1,000 a pop. Campbell said he had no idea what the retail price was until the pharmacist told him.
“We were just walking in and I saw this guy and he was on his way to the store to pick it up,” Campbell said.
The pharmacy had been selling Viagra tablets to men in the city of Vancouver, who are advised to take their first dose “at least 30 minutes before sex”, he said.
When the pharmacy found that a man was taking the Viagra tablets, they stopped selling it and called the police.
